The manager of a large conference and exhibition centre knew asbestos existed within his complex, but did not know how to manage it or how to comply with imminent new legislation. The manager of the complex contacted their architectural consultancy and asked if they knew a reliable competent asbestos consultancy firm. The architectural firm had worked with Abastra previously and were very confident in recommending our services.
We undertook a full Survey, Risk Assessment and Asbestos Register over 25 days. All asbestos items were individually registered, risk assessed using a points system and marked up on the drawings of the conference complex. Comments and recommendations were given on all registered items and a program of remedial works and removal of the asbestos was commenced.
The client has subsequently instructed Abastra to carry out the same procedure on other properties under their management. We have also been involved in the training of their maintenance staff and have provided comprehensive documentation for use by contractors and cabling engineers.
